GRANT AWARDED TO THE BROSVILLE VFD!!
The
Brosville Community Volunteer Fire Department was notified January 3, 2008 of a grant being awarded to us from the
Rescue Squad Assistance Fund Grant (Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services).
We were awarded $104,000.00 to go towards the purchase of a new Medium Duty Crash Truck. We were also awarded $1600.00 to purchase an automated external defibrillator and $520 to purchase
a suction unit to go on the truck (total $106,120.00). The truck will replace
the department’s current light duty crash truck (F379). We will still need
to raise funds to assist with the department’s portion of the new crash truck.
Grant awarded January 15, 2008: The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region (100% funding)
for a High Lift Cushion Rescue Kit: $9000.00
Grant Awarded March 2008: J.T. - Minnie Maude Charitable Trust for General Operations: $6000.00
Grant Awarded April 4, 2008: FEMA Fire Prevention & Safety Grant (95/5 funding) for Animated Sparky the Fire Dog
suit and associated literature: $4,845.00
Grant Awarded May 14, 2008: Department of Forestry Grant (50/50 funding) for 8 wildland coveralls and 2 portable radios:
$1950.00
Grant Awarded July 2008: FEMA - 2008 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (95/5 funding) for Diesel Vehicle Exhaust Removal
System ($41,677.00) and Vehicle Acquisition ($185,250.00)
